TWO YEARS LATER

In the morning for breakfast, I usually choose between waffles, bagels or biscuits, also for some time I have learned to appreciate coffee "double double" of Tim Hortons, actually right now it is almost an addiction ... I'm used to store and take out clothes of the closet depending on the season ... And every day I respond to the greeting of good morning, to my neighbors, bus driver, and anyone who may cross my path.... I understood that what some people call " Consumerism " others call "Necessity " but for me it's just a matter of "Practicality " because  the quality of life is full of small things , which allow you to enjoy the bigger ones.

Two years have passed since my routine completely changed.... Today I look more closely everything around me, I take my time to understand where I am and who I am. It has certainly been a long journey, with ups and downs, and yet some things remain intact: the simple hope to continue this adventure; faith to learn to overcome obstacles; love for some people left and others encountered during the journey ; and thank to God for his guidance, to my husband and daughter for their support and perseverance; and to this magical country full of new sunrises ... Thanks CANADA, so ... thanks ! !

11 THINGS THAT I´VE LEARNED LIVING BETWEEN CANADIANS

11 THINGS THAT I´VE LEARNED LIVING BETWEEN CANADIANS

1. Believe it or not, every season has its beauty
even the winter, despite its longggggg duration.
2. Canadians always say sorry!, when they have
the fault and… when they don´t.
3. The morning coffee is essential to come through
all day… and I must certificate that.
4. Any sentence is not good enough without
        “though” at the end.
5. Canadians pay their taxes just for the right to complain when something doesn´t work.
6. There are idioms for everything, I mean for everything…
7. “Live better” means, saving money in groceries and basic goods, to spend in other things that you really
don´t need but, it make you happy.
8. For Canadians, weather is extremely important, it´s part of the daily conversations and small talks, in
fact nobody go outside without checking the weather channel.
9. Canadians have so many rules, social, moral, legal; and they respect them… Of course there is
somebody watching to make them work.
10. Canadians are so proud of their own icons, hockey, maple syrup, loonies, geese, beavers, color flag,
July 1, probably small things; nevertheless it feels emotionally patriotic.
11. Canada is an amazing country that offers equality of opportunities for everybody… However it
depends to each one make them real.

GAVIOTA

Finalmente el Señor, lanzó el divino soplo de la vida sobre su criatura y miró sonriente al Angel Auxiliar, quien ni tardo, ni perezoso repitió su pregunta;

A SOUL MATE

We walk through the world surrounded by relatives and friends, people whom we can rely on, however, there is a person a truly magic person, that is a complement of yourself, it is somebody who can understand your thoughts with nothing more than a look in your face, it is someone who can give you comfort and peace with just a simple word or better a hug.
It is our soul mate, who is not necessarily that person next to you as a romantically partner, but someone who can be your brother, your friend, a confident, an accomplice, someone who know you better than yourself.
Every human being in this earth has a soul mate, I believe in that. Although I also believe that a soul mate can be lost and hidden for very long time and if you don´t see carefully, you would never find it. I was lucky, I found mine, and my soul mate is kind, loyal and funny, she is the most wonderful person I´ve ever met.
My soul mate has an amazing power to recognize my mood changes and more impressive is her ability to deal with them, she enjoys my happiness and laughs about our own particularly jokes, also she cries with me in my sadness, and she can feel my sorrow as her own, she has been always there for me, right next to the phone even though when she lives across the world.
I don´t know if someday I am going to see my soul mate again, but I do know that no matter where we are, we belong each other, we care and help each other, and despite the distance we are sharing our life, day after day, every single day.

...MEMORABLE QUOTES...

During the past years, I have encountered with different phrases they have been taught me something, sometimes a lot, that is why I keep them very close to my heart. Today I would like to share ten of them with you.

1.- “You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them...In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night...You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The little Prince.

2.- “Can miles truly separate you from friends... If you want to be with someone you love, aren't you already there?”  Richard Bach.

3.-  “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”  Martin Luther King Jr.

4.- “What was it that made this human love so much desirable to me.. Was it because it because was exclusive and capricious? This love was tricky; it had no hard-and-fast rules it might be given for free, or earned through time and hard work, or completely and heartbreakingly unattainable…” Stephenie Meyer, The Host.

5.- “You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.”   Stephen King, On writing.

6.- “I belong to you. You could do anything you wanted with me and I would let you. You could ask anything of me and I'd break myself trying to make you happy…  As long as I can still dream, I will dream of you”.  Cassandra Clare, City of Glass.

7.- “Since I was Young, I have always know this: “Life damage us, every one. We can escape that damage. But now, I am also learning this: We can be mended. We mend each other”. Veronica Roth, Allegiant.

8.- “ And were an epitaph to be my story, I'd have a short one ready for my own.
I would have written of me on my stone: I had a lover's quarrel with the world.” Robert Frost, The Lesson for Today.

Johanna H. Montilla B.
