C IS FOR....

COMFORT ZONE

A month ago we moved to a bigger place… It was part of our settlement process which, after three years, it continues in progression. Well, I guess a “Complete settlement” never happens, not really. If we want to keep moving, going, learning, doing more, doing better, we can´t stay in just one place, physically or emotionally.
So, that night while resting on my brand new bed, looking at the ceiling. I had this estrange idea of being comfortable. I was trying to think about what was coming next and in that moment, I didn´t have an answer for my own question.
People say that if you stay in comfort zone, if you don´t push yourself enough, you run the risk of getting stuck and stop improving yourself personally and professionally. You are hiding if you stay in your comfort zone.
However I was wondering if that would be too bad, feeling safe and secure? Is that too bad to stay in a place where you feel confident and where you have some control?
I think the comfort zone could be a safe heaven. Some place where we can breathe and enjoy our achieved goals, what we have done, and then we can start walking again.
Sometimes I wish to stay there in my comfort zone. Sometimes I just want to close my eyes, clear my head. Sometimes I want to shut the world out and enjoy being myself.

Can I stay there please? I promise it´s going to be just for awhile.

  1. I think it's okay to enjoy a comfort zone at least in some parts of your life. Few of us ever get comfortable everywhere. Glad to meet you on A to Z.

  2. Definitely. I think our homes are big comfort zones. Sometimes we can leave them for weeks at a time. It's so great to come back though. :)

  3. It's funny that sometimes what becomes a comfort zone, can quickly become the opposite if taken away. /fellow challenger/ www.xoxomake.com

  4. Sometimes we need our comfort zone and then sometimes we have to step outside of it. I imagine you are feeling the need for your comfort zone after such a huge move. Moving from Venezuela to Canada is a life altering move. I don't know all of the circumstances surrounding your move, but I know that being that far away from home at any age must be difficult at times. I wish you the very best. Thank you for visiting my blog. It's nice to connect with another lawyer/blogger. I hope you are enjoying the challenge. Take care.
