JOSÉ
ANGEL BUESA
I read most of his poems when I was in
high school. I think I fell in love with “LOVE” because of his words.
He was born in Cuba and he lived in
exile, Jose Angel Buesa dedicated his life to write and teach poetry.
This is my favorite poem by him, the one
that makes me cry every time I read it. This is about the most pure and devoted
love.
POEM TO RENOUNCEMENT
You will pass for my life without knowing it.
You will pass quietly for my love and, while passing,
I'll fake a smile as a sweet contrast
The pain of loving you ... and you'll never know.
I will dream of the nacre on your forehead,
I will dream with your emerald sea-like eyes,
I will desperately dream of your lips,
I will dream of your kisses ... and you'll never know.
Perhaps you pass with someone else, who whispers in your ear
And drowning forever my unaware love,
I'll love you more than ever ... and you will never know.
I will love you in silence ... like someone inaccessible,
Like a dream that I will never fulfill;
And the distant perfume of my impossible love
It will touch your hair ... and you will never know.
And if one day a tear unveils my torment,
The endless torment I must hide from you,
I will say with a smile: "It's nothing ... it has been the
wind."
I will wipe away a tear ... and you'll never know!
